Sefton Park’s Palm House has a thriving events calendar with something for everyone, from photography and drawing classes to DJ nights.
And throughout the spring and summer the iconic Grade II listed Victorian glass structure will play host to a series of free afternoon concerts showcasing the talents of a diverse range of local choirs and orchestras.
Highlights include the PopVox Choir on Sunday 7 May, the Liverpool branch of one of four North West-based choirs. PopVox was formed five years ago by professional conductor Emma Nowell to “create a fun, friendly, adult choir. See event listing
A week later and it’s Liverpool Voice who will be singing amongst the palms.
Liverpool Voice is a long established local choir who have in past delivered productions of Vivaldi’s Gloria and Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols to name but two. See event listing
Into June and we move from choirs to orchestras, with the Maghull Wind Orchestra first up on Sunday 4 June. The MWO was established back in 1978 and is a community-based symphonic wind orchestra boasting over one-hundred members. See event listing
