Easter isn't all about filling up on chocolate eggs. It's also a fantastic time to get out and about and to make the most of the spring sunshine.
There’s so much going on across South Liverpool over the spring break. Here’s our list of some of the most exciting Easter activities for you and your kids to take part in.
1. Slime making workshop
If your kids are slime obsessed, then they’ll absolutely love Mucky Monkeys’ slime making workshop. You can kick back with a cuppa in Wigwam Coffeeshop while they knead and mix to their hearts content. They’ll get to bring their own wacky slime creations home at the end of the end of the session too.
2. Mini Romans Easter Sunday special
The emperor requests your presence at the mini-Romans Easter Sunday special! Why not bring history lessons to life at the Romans Activity Park? The site opened in February and has since been described as a blend of Takeshi's Castle with The Gladiators!
3. Diddy Farmers
Nothing says “Spring is here!” like feeding some cute and cuddly new-born animals at the farm. Croxteth Park Farm have a wide variety of rare breed lambs, cows, pigs, horses and birds. Their Diddy Farmers sessions give children the chance to help the farmers as they muck out, feed baby animals and learn about nature.
4. Performing Arts holiday club
If your kids love to perform, then they can put their imagination and creativity to use at Liverpool Cricket Club’s Performing Arts holiday club. The week will be jam-packed with acting, directing, writing, singing, dancing and much more!
5. Family Easter event at Grow Speke
Grow Speke is an exciting project that’s turning derelict land into a thriving community garden. Come and see what the volunteers have been up to at their Family Easter event. There will be music, Easter crafts, food, games and lots more for the whole family!
6. Liverpool Indoor Funfair
Who doesn’t love the funfair? If you’re looking for a classic day out for the whole family, then the Exhibition Centre has you covered. The indoor funfair is around for the whole week, so you can come back and relive the thrills and laughter again and again. More information in our event calendar.
7. Forever Young kids rave - Easter special
The older kids haven’t been forgotten about either! The Forever Young kids raves are exclusively for 10 to 14 year olds. The event became especially popular thanks to the organiser and resident DJ Louie Smith, who is only 13 years old! Come along to the Forever Young Easter special on 17 April!
8. Speke Adventure Playground
8 to 16 year olds can get active and make new friends with open access to Speke Adventure Playground. Over the Easter break, there’s an exciting programme of activities planned that includes sports, arts and crafts and cookery. Check out their website for more information.
9. Easter Trail at Allerton Manor golf club
Take your little bunnies on a family Easter trail through the secret woods of Allerton Manor Golf Club. As well as a huge Easter egg hunt, there will be a raffle, a tombola and Easter crafts. Fancy dress is also encouraged! All proceeds from the event will go to ‘R Charity’ within the Royal Liverpool Hospital.
10. Liverpool Food and Drink Festival
The new and improved Liverpool Food & Drink Festival 2019 is under new management. Expect a more affordable and accessible experience for both local traders and customers at the end of April.
11. Seeds of Discovery
The Storybarn at Calderstones Park have a Seeds of Discovery programme throughout the Easter break. Staff will be sharing some of their favourite springtime stories, planting seeds and looking for friends from the natural world as they wake up from hibernation.
