Halloween is just around the corner. If you’re still stuck for something to do, or you want to try something a bit different this year, then read on.
From spooky baking classes to monster discos and a Halloween parade, there are plenty of spine-tingling events in South Liverpool for the whole family to enjoy this year.
1. Spooky Roots
The Storybarn is a playspace that’s dedicated to reading, where kids and families can come and spark their imaginations. This half term, young Storyhunters are encouraged to put on their scariest Halloween costumes before exploring the Storybarn’s favourite family folk tales and unravelling a trail of strange and spooky heirlooms.
2. Spooky Speke
Grow Speke is a thriving community garden that’s hidden behind Damwood Road. This Mischief night, Spooky Speke will offer a host of spooktacular outdoor activities for families to take part in including arts and crafts, hot dogs and spooky storytellers from MyClubmoor and Artsgroupie.
3. Half term baking
If you’re intrigued by the sound of oreo spiders, mummy truffles and graveyard cupcakes then come along to these two half term baking classes. Independent coffee shop Hug A Mug in Gatacre are renowned for their family events, and they have a host of terrifying treats instore this half term.
4. Mr Tumble Halloween Spooktacular
Liverpool’s only Mr Tumble tribute act is hosting his own spooky mini disco at the sensory room in Hug A Mug. Expect lots of exciting games and prize giveaways at the Halloween Spooktacular and your little ones will even get their own Halloween lunch box to eat after all the fun.
5. Jumping Jacks spooky party
Join Jumping Jacks for a party like no other. There will be an awesome UV glow disco, balloon modelling, and stylish spooky mocktails on arrival. You can show off your moves at the bone-shaking disco, which will include spooky tattoos, a glitter bar, and UV facepainting.
6. Cineworld Speke Spooktacular
You can get your older kids and teens involved in the fun too, with Cineworld Speke’s lineup of chilling October releases including Maleficent, Zombieland and The Addams Family. The Cineworld Spooktacular will also include party games and a fancy dress competition, with all proceeds going to Children In Need.
7. Katumba Halloween parade
Katumba are leading a gigantic Halloween parade through Liverpool city centre on 26 October. The Halloween parade promises to be an all-immersive spectacle, with more than 100 drummers as well as visual performance, theatre and music.
