Women across Merseyside will be given a helping hand to get active this October, thanks to the Liverpool arm of the hugely popular, ‘This Girl Can’ campaign initiative, which encourages women and girls aged 14 and above across the city to become more active.
Local studies reveal women across Liverpool are inactive and engage in little to no exercise. Public Health at Liverpool City Council recognise that the largest segment of women who are not engaging in regular movement and exercise are time poor mums. But the new campaign is here to help.
Understanding that it’s hard to get back into fitness, the campaign is offering women in Liverpool the chance to try different types of exercise over the month of October, for free, by signing up for the first session at no cost required.
Being active and carrying out some form of physical exercise daily has huge mental and physical health benefits and the Liverpool arm of the ‘Let’s Get Moving’ campaign offers women across Merseyside to try a variety of fitness and exercise classes across the city for free.
Partnering fitness classes will provide women with the opportunity to sign up to the first class for free as a taster session and women and girls aged 14 and above can try as many different sports and activities throughout the month of October as they wish.
How to take part
The campaign launches on the 1 October and will run for one month. To find out how to take part and the fitness classes available, view the website here - https://www.thisgirlcanliverpool.co.uk/free-sessions/
